MIKELLER BEER DINNER HIGHLIGHT OF GRIFFIN’S WINTER WINE PROGRAMME

A dinner featuring the iconic beers of Mikeller Brewers is the highlight of a new season of specialist suppers and tastings at the Griffin this winter.

MONTHLY WINE AND BEER SUPPERS

Our wine and beer suppers will feature four or five courses from The Griffin’s kitchen, together with a wine or beer that the team has selected to match each course.
The suppers will promote wines or beers of a particular region or maker.
Most of all, though, they are designed to be in The Griffin’s unstuffy image and, at around £55 a head, not prohibitively expensive.

Edmund’s thoughts: “This is a serious thrill for our team to show off the Mikeller beers.
Their beers have rightly attained a lofty status among beer cognoscenti in a very short period of time.
This dinner is another example that drinking well made beers with food is an absolute pleasure and not just some dreamed-up fad.”

MONTHLY WINE TASTINGS FOR LOCAL CUSTOMERS

For the first time, The Griffin will also host relaxed wine tastings on the third Thursday of the month.
At only £5 an evening, or £20 for all six evenings, they are intended to encourage you into areas of the wine list into which you may not normally venture as well as to introduce you to some of the independent wine merchants that The Griffin buys from.  

Julie’s thoughts: “we’ve long wanted to do these tastings.  Nothing too formal or protracted.
Just a relaxed early evening drink among friends, with some olives, some bread and some good wines.
We want our guests to explore our list, and we think this is a good way to do it.  I hope people will feel able just to pop in as they are great value.”

Top notch Griffin food as always, but this time with your wine chosen for you and pretty much priced at cost.  Please do book ahead if you like the look of them as we will be keeping number limited.
