Needle felting workshop with Ffolkyfelt. Coffee, lunch, materials and direction.  £35 a head.  Just a spot or two left.  Enquiries straight to here.

Crickhowell Walking Festival starts.  Until 5 March.  Events tend to book up, so book tickets via their website.

Spring wine dinner at The Griffin with Nick Brooks of Vine Trail.  £60 a head.  Drop us an email if you'd like more details.

Easter weekend.  One of the busier weekends of the year.  We love spontaneity, but it is probably worth calling to book if you'd like to eat.

A Bottle Shop

We don't find it easy to buy good wine in the area.  Fingal Rock Wines in Monmouth is an obvious exception and we like the look of newcomers to Hereford, Noble & Wild.
But with each of those two 45 minutes from us, we become a good option if you're looking to buy wine by the bottle or by the case.

We're happy to sell any of the wines on our list to take away at retail prices.  These are good wines, well made by exacting wine makers, often organic or biodynamic.

Sunday Sleepover

Available all year round.  Kick back with us for Sunday lunch, the papers and maybe an afternoon walk.  Then supper, a good night's sleep and a great breakfast on Monday morning.

From just £195 for two people when the Winter Escape is in place (when the clocks are on GMT), and from £230 at other times.

To check availability for any of our offers or to book a table, do drop us an email here.

The Heart of Winter

Ben Ogden, a chef of genuine talent whose approach to food sits ideally with the EDS ethos, has taken easily to his role as Head Chef here.

He looks to whatever Celtic heritage he has to cook for our Burns Night and St Dwynwen's Day supper on 25 January.  Tickets from here.
Next up on the sleep front is The Winter Escape.  Crunchingly good value, from £160 for two people including dinner and in place until 23 March (Sunday - Thursday)

Heading off towards Spring

Ben cooks again for our next wine dinner on Friday 31 March with our friends at Vinetrail, importers of some of our very favourite wines on the list.  £60 a head and tickets from here.

The Spring Sleepover starts from 17 April (Easter Monday) and runs until 18 May.  Two or more night stays, including dinner, and available also at our sister inns in Cornwall, The Gurnard's Head and The Old Coastguard.

Away from our four walls, we look forward to the Crickhowell Walking Festival (25 Feb. - 5 March).  Guided walks around the amazing hills and mountains which surround us.

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount, or for a particular offer, and usable at any EATDRINKSLEEP inn, they last at least 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed.
Email us at

We now even send them to you in a little pack that you can give to the lucky recipient.  An improvement on our previous Blue Peter efforts.

We donate 5% of voucher sales in each December to our chosen charities.  This year you've helped us raise nearly £1500 to share between Cornwall Hospice Care, National Coastwatch Institution and Cancer Research Wales.
