Winter Escape returns.  From £160 per couple per night, including dinner and breakfast.  Until late March.

Wine Dinner at Griffin with Ben Llewellyn of Carte Blanche Wines.  More details and tickets from here.
Our annual Carol Service in the barns with Rev. Ian Charlesworth.  Everyone welcome.  From 7pm.

Brief closure for our usual paint, pipes and wires renewal.  This year, we also have some new curtains in the pipeline.  We reopen on the 13th.

Lunch for a Fiver starts.  Our annual lunch offer (until 30th January) where, if two of you eat, the second pays just £5 for their grub.  Vouchers to follow to Friends of EDS.

A Bottle Shop

We don't find it easy to buy good wine in the area.  Fingal Rock Wines in Monmouth is an obvious exception and we like the look of newcomers to Hereford, Noble & Wild.
But with each of those two 45 minutes from us, we become a good option if you're looking to buy wine by the bottle or by the case.

We're happy to sell any of the wines on our list to take away at retail prices.  These are good wines, well made by exacting wine makers, often organic or biodynamic.

Sunday Sleepover

Available all year round.  Kick back with us for Sunday lunch, the papers and maybe an afternoon walk.  Then supper, a good night's sleep and a great breakfast on Monday morning.

From just £215 for two people at the moment and then a little less (£195) when the Winter Escape is in place (when the clocks are on GMT).

To check availability for any of our offers, do drop us an email here.

Into Autumn

In June we waved goodbye to Max Wilson who headed to Cornwall to take over the kitchen at The Gurnard's Head. Into his place at the pass stepped Ben Ogden, a chef of genuine talent whose approach to food sits ideally with the EDS ethos.

As we head out of summer, attention turns to our Autumn offers: firstly the September Sleepover, in place until 6 October.  2 - 4 night stays, including dinner each night and from £329 for two nights for 2 people.

Beyond that is the Winter Escape.  Crunchingly good value, from £160 for two people including dinner and in place from Sunday 30 October (Sunday - Thursday)

The Summer Holiday

Manifold are the reasons to spend your summer in Britain.  We think a beating sun is overrated.

Just in this part of the world there are hills, adventure sports, streams, camping, market towns, canal boats and riding.  And fishing.  And cycling.

Our encouragement to holiday in Wales are special rates for stays of more than 4 nights or for parents with young children.  Just email us here for more details.

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount, or for a particular offer, and usable at any EATDRINKSLEEP inn, they last at least 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed.
Email us at

We now even send them to you in a little pack that you can give to the lucky recipient.  An improvement on our previous Blue Peter efforts.

We donate 5% of voucher sales in each December to our chosen charities.  In 2015 we were able to hand over £1100 to share between Brecon Mountain Rescue and Pentreath, an organisation helping those with mental health challenges in Cornwall.
