New garden furniture from Alexander Rose in place.  No better harbinger of a dismal wet summer.

Suitably for Labour Day, we remind everyone that we are always looking for talented people to work with us.  More details on vacancies from here.

Wine supper with Ben Robson of Bat & Bottle.  We'll update our Facebook page with some photos.

We reopen with a new bathroom in Room 6, our three year refurbishment plan completed.  There is a next step, but we won't tell you yet what it is.

Spanish wine dinner with legendary winemaker Miguel Coca slated for 8th November.  Tickets and details available from here.

Early Summer

The Hay Festival is the centre of attention for our guests until the beginning of June.  It is extraordinary how this little town becomes the centre of the "world" for a few days in May.

Looking ahead, the Brecon Jazz Festival is finding its feet again and is on our doorstep on the weekend of 8 - 10 August.  Again, book early for the best tickets.

Our next offers are the Summer Holiday in July and August (see right) and then our September Sleepover returns on 1 September.  Among our very favourite times of year here in mid Wales.

Sunday Sleepover

Available all year round.  Kick back with us for Sunday lunch, the papers and maybe an afternoon walk.  Then supper, a good night's sleep and a great breakfast on Monday morning.

From just £200 for the two of you through summer and early Autumn and then back to from £180 once our Winter Escape is in place (while clocks are on GMT).

A Beer Evening

Friday 20th June

After March's wine jamboree with Ben Robson (which was a blast, incidentally) we move back to the hop for our midsummer supper.

Some live music and beers from Tiny Rebel, Brecon Brewing, Celt Experience and Waen.

£36.50 a head, to include four courses and beers, with entry for those not wishing to eat at £5 a head.  Tickets can be found here.

The Summer Holiday

July and August

Although we won't denounce the attraction of beaches, landlocked mid Wales has much to attract the visitor in the summer.  We've rarely had more fun than when canoeing down the Wye towards Hay.

From £645 for four nights for two people including dinner and applicable on nights that start with "Fri" and "Satur" as well as weekdays.   And children stay for free with parents in our larger room.

The Summer Holiday also runs at The Old Coastguard and The Gurnard's Head, although it seems you have to move quickly to find the dates you want down there.

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount, or for a particular offer, and usable at any EATDRINKSLEEP inn, they last at least 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed.

We now even send them to you in a little pack that you can give to the lucky recipient.  An improvement on our previous Blue Peter efforts.
