Winter Escape returns.  From £160 per couple per night, including dinner and breakfast.  Until 23 March.

Closure Feast at The Griffin.  £15 a head (£8.50 for children) and £2 a pint. More details and tickets from here.
Brief closure for our usual paint, pipes and wires renewal.  This year, we also have some new curtains in the pipeline.  We reopen on the 13th.

Lunch for a Fiver starts.  Our annual lunch offer (until 28 January) where, if two of you eat, the second pays just £5 for their grub.  Vouchers to follow to Friends of EDS.

Poetry and Welsh romance coincide on Burns Night and St Dwynwen's Day.  3 course set menu at £29.50.

A Bottle Shop

We don't find it easy to buy good wine in the area.  Fingal Rock Wines in Monmouth is an obvious exception and we like the look of newcomers to Hereford, Noble & Wild.
But with each of those two 45 minutes from us, we become a good option if you're looking to buy wine by the bottle or by the case.

We're happy to sell any of the wines on our list to take away at retail prices.  These are good wines, well made by exacting wine makers, often organic or biodynamic.

Sunday Sleepover

Available all year round.  Kick back with us for Sunday lunch, the papers and maybe an afternoon walk.  Then supper, a good night's sleep and a great breakfast on Monday morning.

From just £195 for two people when the Winter Escape is in place (when the clocks are on GMT), and from £230 at other times.

To check availability for any of our offers or to book a table, do drop us an email here.

The Heart of Winter

Ben Ogden, a chef of genuine talent whose approach to food sits ideally with the EDS ethos, has taken easily to his role as Head Chef here.

He cooks again for our next wine dinner on Friday 31 March with our friends at Vinetrail.  £60 a head and tickets from here.
Next up on the sleep front is The Winter Escape.  Crunchingly good value, from £160 for two people including dinner and in place from Sunday 30 October (Sunday - Thursday)

Christmas and New Year

We close after lunch on Christmas Eve, reopening on Boxing Day.  It's worth booking if you'd like to eat with us around that time: we're lucky that it's one of our busier times of year.

We close for a paint and a polish on Monday 9 January and reopen on the Friday evening, with Lunch for a Fiver kicking in from Saturday 14.

We look forward as ever to our Carol Service in the barn on 23 December at 7pm.  Everyone is welcome.

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount, or for a particular offer, and usable at any EATDRINKSLEEP inn, they last at least 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed.
Email us at

We now even send them to you in a little pack that you can give to the lucky recipient.  An improvement on our previous Blue Peter efforts.

We donate 5% of voucher sales in each December to our chosen charities.  This year you've helped us raise nearly £1500 to share between Cornwall Hospice Care, National Coastwatch Institution and Cancer Research Wales.
